Oregon Steelhead Fishing Guide

Columbia River Steelhead near the John Day Arm is an area we love to catch Steelhead. The Columbia River has two runs of Steelhead, the first run is 6 to12 pounders, these Steelhead are called "A" runs. The second run are 13 pounds to 25 pounds. These Steelhead are called B run steelhead. The Columbia River run size last year was the largest run ever recorded. The Columbia River has the largest runs of Steelhead . Larger than any other river in Oregon and Washington. This area well known for its "B" run steelhead . This is a TROPHY STEELHEAD fishery.

This Wild Oregon River offers some truly spectacular guided fishing for Winter Steelhead. The weather here is beautiful with brite sunny days, 90% no rain, cold and clear. Not like Portland Oregon or the Oregon coast. This section of the river is very senic and abundent with wild life, mule deer, big horn sheep, bob cats and is a Oregon State water fowl sanctuary. Todd and Julie are Columbia River Fishing Guides and Oregon Fishing Guides that fish the John Day Arm.

Both Todd and Julie each run their own 24 ft. North River Boats, with lots of room for that big group. Winter Steelhead fishing here can suddenly turn into a line singing battle with an arobatic display that will put a smile on any fisherman's face. Light tackle and light line makes this Trophy Steelhead a real fight. Standard hatchery Steelhead runs, both summer and winter, contain a mix of native wild and hatchery fish. These wild fish are full of fight and provide an excellent fight for both beginner and seasoned anglers alike and of course they are great eating too.
